Neighborhood Learning Centers

Education is a coveted commodity in Myanmar.  While law requires that all children of a certain age attend school, government schools are not always ideal learning environments.  Often students can only pass a class if they pay exorbitant after school tuition rates, and even then the standardized curriculum and the educators training may not align.

There is no shortage of educational facilities, but getting a well-rounded education is a luxury that only the wealthy can afford. Through our support of neighborhood learning centers, Love For Myanmar tries to supplement learning through platforms of free education. By making classes available in poorer areas on the outskirts of Yangon, we help give children living under the poverty line a chance to get a better education, leading to a better job opportunity, and eventually helping to break the cycle of poverty.

We will continue to explore new ways to provide educational assistance to the children of Myanmar.
