Who We Are
Our Heartbeat
Love for Myanmar ministers to the people in and from Myanmar in a variety of ways:
- Teaching about the Gospel to equip local church leaders for nurturing believers as well as sharing with unreached people.
- Training to provide compassionate care to persons who have experienced the trauma of abandonment, abuse, death, disease, neglect, persecution, and violence.
- Food/vitamins, shelter, clothing, medical supplies, and educational tutoring for abandoned and orphaned children.
- Education for children whose families cannot afford to send them to public schools by developing neighborhood Christian learning centers. Learn more
Our History
Yesterday
Love for Myanmar (LFM) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) humanitarian aid organization that provides comprehensive aid, support, and programs to the people of Myanmar. The organization started in 2004 when Reed and Glenna Iwami first visited the country of Myanmar as tourists. Their children, Dan and Holli Lancaster, had moved to Myanmar with four children to share God’s love with the Burmese people. Learn more
Our Staff
Love for Myanmar operates with a staff in the United States and a staff in Myanmar. A Board of concerned and passionate people give the work stability and wisdom. Groups of volunteers help with the Burmese work in America (mainly through the Austin Karen Baptist Church) and the work in Myanmar (chiefly through mission trips and training events.) Learn more
